Gold Village – Tankavaara, Saariselkä
Gold Village is located in Tankavaara, Sodankylä, the historic heart of Finnish gold panning. Saariselkä is about 20 minutes away and Kakslauttanen 15 minutes, making the village a handy base for exploring Eastern Lapland.
The modern mini cabins offer a private sauna, stove and silent wilderness right behind the yard. Urho Kekkonen National Park trails, the Gold Village museums and dark northern lights skies are right next door.

- • By air: Ivalo (approx. 42 min) or Rovaniemi (approx. 2.5 h).
- • By train: train to Rovaniemi, then a bus or rental car north.
- • By car: the village is on highway 4, free parking.
